Fans got a thrill when Michael Ladino and Ulysses Varela connected against Franklin. The connection went for 75 yards, the longest such play in Central this season.
Bernstein moved up to 719 from 777 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Dragons were able to move up by beating Cleveland 35-21.
Ladino threw for 302 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Varela was the best receiver in the league this week as Contreras bested the Panthers. Varela racked up 6 receptions for 161 yards. Brandon Gonzales helped Contreras' passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 36 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Miguel Torres. The Roybal star has 14 catches for 281 yards.
The Cobras and Franklin played the most contested game in Central this week, with the Cobras eventually emerging with a 34-33 victory. Ladino ran for 107 yards during the win.
