TAPPS Division III District 6 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Bay Area Christian moved up to 820 from 852 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in TAPPS Division III District 6. The Broncos were able to make move up by beating Legacy Christian Academy 41-0.
Bay Area Christian extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Warriors, 41-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Scott Musgrove and Breck Powers gave Rosehill Christian a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Musgrove threw for 134 yards and four touchdowns, while Powers ran for 88 yards. Musgrove also contributed to the rushing game with 76 yards on the ground.
Frank Aufmuth was the best wideout in the league this week as Cypress Christian beat The Woodlands Christian Academy. Aufmuth tallied eight receptions for 122 yards. Will Echols helped Cypress Christian's passing attack out by catching three balls for 34 yards.
The Warriors' Thomas Glazier and Aufmuth have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading TAPPS Division III District 6 in both passing and receiving yards. Glazier has thrown for 727 yards this season, while Aufmuth, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 53 catches for 714 yards. Kyle Walker from Legacy Christian Academy leads the league in rushing with 309 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Warriors take on Byron Sanford's team. As it stands, The Woodlands Christian Academy is in third, while the Warriors are in second.
There should be lots of points scored when the Eagles and Cypress Christian face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Rosehill Christian comes in having scored 169 this season, while Jacob Spenn's team has scored 132. Ryan Anthony's team scored 58 points last week as it bested O'Connell.
The Eagles took down the Buccaneers 58-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Musgrove in the win.
