Liberty is 10-0 against the Red Devils since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Liberty Leopards will look to defend their home court against the Memorial Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Thursday, Liberty was beaten by the Golden Flashes 59-16. While losing is never fun, Liberty can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 744th, while the Golden Flashes are ranked 291st).
Meanwhile, Memorial's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against LaBrae, falling 55-14.
Despite the loss, Memorial had strong showings from Diamon Sims, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, and Angeliz Diaz, who scored two points.
This is the second loss in a row for Liberty and nudges their season record down to 3-16. As for Memorial, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16.
Liberty didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Red Devils when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 27-21 win. Will Liberty repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
