It was a good run, but the Bay Path RVT Minutemen unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 65-53 to Auburn. Even though they lost, Bay Path RVT's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.1 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Bay Path RVT's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peter Barbale, who scored 14 points. Dale Nussey was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Bay Path RVT's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9. As for Auburn, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bay Path RVT will face off against Nipmuc Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bay Path RVT will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Nipmuc Regional is ranked 91st). As for Auburn, they will head out on the road to square off against Leicester at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Leicester and Auburn are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
