The Aiken Fighting Green Hornets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 78-61 victory over Midland Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Aiken was led to victory by Tre'von Walker and George Brown. Walker scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals, while Brown scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jameat Williams, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Aiken has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Midland Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aiken will face off against the Thoroughbreds at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Aiken will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Fighting Green Hornets are ranked 68th). As for Midland Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against the Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
