The Pasquotank County Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Manteo 32-28. Pasquotank County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Manteo apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Pasquotank County still got an impressive performance from Anylah Bowe, who dropped a double-double on 11 rebounds and ten blocks. Bowe is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Ka?leigha Person was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Manteo can attribute much of their success to CC Lowe, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Lowe has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasiya Burton-Bailey, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Pasquotank County has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Manteo, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pasquotank County will take on Currituck County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Currituck County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Manteo, they will be playing at home against Northeastern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Manteo: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Northeastern has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
