Meade is 7-1 against Southern since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Meade Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Southern Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Meade has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 659 points over their last ten contests.
Meade pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Northeast.
Meade's defeat came about despite a quality game from Josh Holmes, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucaya Baldridge, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Southern scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They secured a 78-73 W over Arundel. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meade's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5. As for Southern, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Everything came up roses for Meade against Southern in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 64-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Meade since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
