The Sickles Gryphons can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Robinson with a sharp 64-44 victory. Winning may never get old, but Sickles sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Leading Sickles to victory were Kelsey Sharpe and Beckham Hockley. Sharpe scored 18 points along with seven steals and six assists, while Hockley scored 28 points along with five assists and two steals. Sharpe is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Watts, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Despite the loss, Robinson still got an impressive performance from Jennie Gutman, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Gutman is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Godfrey, who scored seven points along with seven assists and two steals.
Sickles is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. As for Robinson, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
Sickles won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Newsome at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. Newsome will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while Sickles is ranked 71st). Robinson won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th. Jefferson has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 25.
