The North Central Wolfpack will square off against the Clarkston Bantams at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. North Central has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
North Central lost 14-1 to Pullman on Saturday. The Wolfpack have struggled against the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
North Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicholas Elliott, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clarkston). They put the hurt on East Valley with a sharp 20-4 victory on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Bantams in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won six in a row.
Tucker Green made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). He is becoming a predictor of Clarkston's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 4-6 when he doesn't). Green was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played.
In other batting news, Darren Cleveland was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, and one triple. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Morgan Bunch was another key player, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three doubles, and one stolen base.
Clarkston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The victory got Clarkston back to even at 7-7. As for North Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
North Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Clarkston in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Wolfpack have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bantams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
