There's no place like home for the Uxbridge Spartans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They strolled past Southbridge with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 60-45. With that win, Uxbridge brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.
Uxbridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ethan Mccusker led the charge by scoring 16 points. The contest was Mccusker's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Colin Spencer, who scored 12 points.
Uxbridge pushed their record up to 6-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Southbridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Uxbridge will take on Oxford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Oxford knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Uxbridge likes a good challenge.
