Randolph is 1-9 against Oxbow since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Ghosts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Olympians at 4:30 p.m. Randolph is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Randolph is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Lyndon Institute, who was ranked fourth at the time (Randolph was ranked 25th). The Ghosts came up short against the Vikings on Tuesday, falling 9-0. Considering the last time the Ghosts couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.
Randolph saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Messier, who went 1-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, Oxbow never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Lake Region 6-0. Considering the Olympians have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Emma Manley was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Braylee Phelps was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Oxbow has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Randolph, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Randolph hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. However, it's not like Oxbow struggles in that department as they've averaged .426. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Randolph might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Oxbow in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Ghosts have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
