The Vardaman Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 59-25 blowout they got on the road against Houlka. That looming 59-25 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Vardaman yet this season.
Despite the loss, Houlka had strong showings from Olivia Halford, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds, and Madison Martin, who scored two points along with five rebounds. Halford scored a full 56% of Houlka's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The win makes it two in a row for Vardaman and bumps their season record up to 4-11. As for Houlka, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Both teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Houlka is out to stop a 12-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season. They will take on Vardaman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
