The Classical Academy Caimans suffered their biggest defeat since November 29, 2023 on Monday. They suffered a rough 76-52 defeat at the hands of San Diego Jewish Academy. Classical Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as San Diego Jewish Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Classical Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Issac Davis. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points. That was a full 44.2% of Classical Academy's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Crandall, who scored seven points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Diego Jewish Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Silberstein, who scored 19 points along with seven blocks and six rebounds. Ethan Abeles was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for San Diego Jewish Academy, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Classical Academy will take on Tri-City Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Averaging 63.8 so far this season, Tri-City Christian's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Classical Academy better be ready for a challenge. As for San Diego Jewish Academy, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Del Lago Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th.
