Two dominant players in Kobe Allen and Colbyn Draper are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Taylorsville Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Summit Academy Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Taylorsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 84-45, which was the final score in Taylorsville's tilt against Layton. Taylorsville has struggled against Layton recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Taylorsville had strong showings from Allen, who scored 14 points along with five assists, and Logan Bertagnolli, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Allen scored a full 31.1% of Taylorsville's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Bronson Dallimore, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Summit Academy pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to South Summit. While losing is never fun, Summit Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while South Summit is ranked third).
Taylorsville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Summit Academy, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-6 record last season and are now at 5-8.
