The Clearwater Valley Rams will head out to take on the Potlatch Loggers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clearwater Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
Clearwater Valley lost 14-4 to Orofino on Wednesday.
Clearwater Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Christensen, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Christensen has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Potlatch waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 13-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Loggers, who have now won three games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Jameson Morris made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits. Morris was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Trey Magallon was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenton Breeze, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Potlatch always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kendrick only posted an OBP of .423.
Clearwater Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Potlatch, their record now sits at 9-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Clearwater Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Potlatch struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Clearwater Valley came up short against Potlatch in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 4-1. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
