Highland Springs is a perfect 8-0 against Meadowbrook since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. Highland Springs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Highland Springs made up a huge gap compared to their last game against L.C. Bird, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Springers were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Skyhawks last Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Springers.

Elise Fleming made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, firing off four doubles, three runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-5.

In other batting news, Ashlynne Porter was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Gathright, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Highland Springs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Meadowbrook hadn't done well against Colonial Heights recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Thursday. The Monarchs walked away with an 8-3 win over the Colonials.

Highland Springs' record now sits at 3-1. As for Meadowbrook, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Highland Springs took their win against Meadowbrook when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0 score. Will the Springers repeat their success, or do the Monarchs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
