Caleb Leader was incredible, going 2-for-4 with six RBI, four runs, and one triple. Calvary Christian Academy is 3-1 when Leader posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Wilson, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Calvary Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.9 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 13.6.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Plumstead Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Church Farm an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what Plumstead Christian needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Declan Glass made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michael Dear, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Aaron Miller was another key player, earning two RBI and one run.
Calvary Christian Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.8 runs over those games. As for Plumstead Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
