The Simmons Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Greenwood Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Simmons didn't have too much breathing room in their game against O'Bannon, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win.
Kenzavius Lundy was the offensive standout of the matchup as he dropped a double-double on 10 points and 13 rebounds. Carl Lucas Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Greenwood put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 64-56 win over Leflore County. Given Greenwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Leflore County is ranked 267th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The losses dropped Simmons to 2-4 and O'Bannon to 2-5.
Simmons didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Greenwood in their previous meeting back in December of 2014, but they still walked away with a 64-60 win. Will Simmons repeat their success, or does Greenwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
