Mesquite is 8-0 against Arcadia since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Mesquite Wildcats will be playing at home against the Arcadia Titans at 7:00 p.m. Mesquite will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
On Thursday, Mesquite faced Seton Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Mesquite sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-37 victory over Seton Catholic. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Mesquite has posted since December 20, 2023.
Mesquite relied on the efforts of Lucy Fisher, who scored eight points along with six steals and five rebounds, and Navae Guidry, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Guidry hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Pippa Krieger, who scored six points.
Arcadia suffered their biggest loss since January 5th on Thursday. They were outmatched by Saguaro on the road and fell 86-45. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Arcadia in their matchups with Saguaro: they've now lost eight in a row.
Mesquite is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. As for Arcadia, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Mesquite against Arcadia in their previous matchup last Thursday as the squad secured a 79-17 win. With Mesquite ahead 39-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
