After flying high against the Cassopolis Rangers last Saturday, the South Bend Clay Colonials came back down to earth. South Bend Clay took a hard 61-47 fall against the Cavemen on Monday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Bend Clay in their matchups with the Cavemen: they've now lost five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why South Bend Clay lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tyrese Jones. Despite the final result, he scored 26 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Jones has been hot recently, having posted 21 or more points the last four times he's played. Shirron Taylor was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
South Bend Clay's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Mishawaka, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Bend Clay will take on the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully South Bend St. Joseph focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Friday. As for Mishawaka, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Warsaw is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
