Hammond Morton waltzed into their game  on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the River Forest Ingots 13-1. The Governors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by ten  runs or more this season.
 Ei'Lani Herrera made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out eight batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than seven  strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Analiya Feliciano, who  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with one  home run, three  stolen bases,  and three  runs. Another player making a difference was  Juleeana Temores, who  went 2-for-3 with three  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Hammond Morton  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an  OBP of .591 or higher in three consecutive  matches.
Hammond Morton's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for River Forest, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
 Hammond Morton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  an  11-1  loss against Hammond Bishop Noll on the 19th. As for River Forest, they will have a little extra prep time after the  defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lowell at 5:00  p.m.  on  the 29th.
