Northland is 0-10 against Centennial since April of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. Gianna Lumpkin made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amely Valoy, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Centennial got themselves on the board against East on Wednesday, but East never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 19-0 victory. Considering the Stars have won 12 games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ellie Glover made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Glover was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Claire Trost was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Elise Julien was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Northland's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Centennial, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-7 record.
