Scott is a perfect 5-0 against Roane County since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Skyhawks will face off against the Raiders at 1:00 p.m. Scott's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Roane County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Roane County will be up against a hot Scott squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Skyhawks never let Clay County get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Thursday.
The result came thanks to Hunter Woodrum's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Scott got a big performance out of Nolan Williamson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Williamson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Ferrell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Scott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clay County only posted an OBP of .130.
Meanwhile, Roane County posted their closest victory since April 7th on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Calhoun, sneaking past 5-4. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Landen Williams made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Roane County is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 9-11 otherwise. Williams was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, Byron Taylor was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Wyatt Brabham was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Scott's record is now 16-8. As for Roane County, their record now sits at 11-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Scott has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Roane County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Scott's way against Roane County when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Scott made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Skyhawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
