After a string of seven wins, the Kirk Academy Raiders's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Leake Academy, falling 63-31. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kirk Academy has scored all season.
Leake Academy found their leader in underclassman Jenna Allen, who scored 16 points. Katye Jones was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Kirk Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Leake Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.
Kirk Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Indianola Academy at 6:00 p.m. Leake Academy is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Oak Hill Academy at 4:15 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Oak Hill Academy will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
