The Greeley Central Wildcats's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lakewood Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on December 8th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Friday.
Greeley Central pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Vista PEAK Prep on the road and fell 94-64. Greeley Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-30.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Abdirahman Dahir, who scored 16 points. Dahir is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reid Arlo richardson, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-41, which was the final score in Lakewood's tilt against Mead on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Lakewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Mead is ranked 48th).
The wins kept both teams' perfect 2-1 season records intact.
Greeley Central skirted past Lakewood 43-41 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Greeley Central repeat their success, or does Lakewood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
