Maria Carrillo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathan Dipman out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Dipman hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Eli Jamieson, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Despite the loss, Rancho Cotate still got an impressive performance from Adam Pengel, who scored 33 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pengel has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Decimus Shaw, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Maria Carrillo pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Rancho Cotate, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Maria Carrillo will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Analy at 7:30 p.m. Analy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Rancho Cotate, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Vincent de Paul at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Vincent de Paul presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rancho Cotate in California (St. Vincent de Paul is ranked 329th, while Rancho Cotate is ranked 796th).
