Despite the loss, Flowing Wells saw an underclassman step up: Jose Cureses scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Nwaobi, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Cholla is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Flowing Wells, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
