The Hubbard Eagles lost to the Mineral Ridge Rams back in February of 2021, but the Hubbard Eagles didn't allow the Mineral Ridge Rams the same satisfaction on Friday. Hubbard took down Mineral Ridge 71-54. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hubbard.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hubbard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gavin Rybicki, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kenyen Franklin, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Despite the loss, Mineral Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Chase Moore dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Rozzi, who scored eight points.
Hubbard's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Mineral Ridge, they bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hubbard will take on Poland Seminary at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mineral Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against McKinley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
