The Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes will take on the Pine Grove Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Schuylkill Haven knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Pine Grove likes a good challenge.
Schuylkill Haven gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They claimed a resounding 55-14 win over Marian Catholic. With the Hurricanes ahead 35-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Colton Reber continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 326 yards and seven TDs while picking up 14.2 yards per carry. Those seven rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Schuylkill Haven was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 468 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 239 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Schuylkill Haven's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Niko Castillo and Aaron Gilbert, who racked up four sacks between them. Reber got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Pine Grove's offense. They had to suffer through a 43-0 loss at the hands of Minersville. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while the Battlin' Miners are ranked 198th).
Schuylkill Haven's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points over those games. As for Pine Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Schuylkill Haven has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 442.1 total yards per game. It's a different story for Pine Grove, though, as they've been averaging only 160.3 total yards. Will Schuylkill Haven be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Cardinals flip the script?
Everything came up roses for Schuylkill Haven against Pine Grove in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured an 81-6 victory. Will the Hurricanes repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
