The Silver Creek Raptors are taking a road trip to face off against the Skyline Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Silver Creek and five for Skyline.
Last Tuesday, Silver Creek was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 83-78 to Monarch. While losing is never fun, the Raptors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Coyotes are ranked 42nd).

Silver Creek's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Connor Bonsett, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 20 points and seven rebounds, and Henry Pendergrass, who went 6-for-9 en route to 16 points along with five boards and four steals. Silver Creek is 2-1 when Bonsett posts 15 or more points, but 7-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Buckingham, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 13 points and three steals.
Even though they lost, Silver Creek smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in ten consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Skyline ended up a good deal behind Centaurus on Tuesday and lost 56-39.
Silver Creek will have to contain Dj Swan as he made an impact in Skyline's last game. He posted 16 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Rickman, who scored six points and three steals.
Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Silver Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Silver Creek has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Skyline struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Silver Creek against Skyline in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, as the team secured a 67-37 victory. In that contest, Silver Creek amassed a halftime lead of 38-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
