Mitchell has gone a perfect 10-0 against Fivay recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Mitchell will look to defend their home field against Fivay at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Fivay will be up against a hot Mitchell team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Mitchell never let River Ridge get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Tuesday. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Savannah Toukatly made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Addison Freitas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Audrey Midyett, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Mitchell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Ridge only managed two hits.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous six contests, Fivay brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Everything went their way against Anclote on Tuesday as Fivay made off with an 18-0 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Like Mitchell, Fivay also got a great game from a two-way player: Danna Sleeman. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Sleeman was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Fivay got a massive performance out of Janie Badu, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Badu's first of the season. Abby Wojcik was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
Mitchell's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fivay, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Everything went Mitchell's way against Fivay in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Mitchell made off with an 18-0 victory. Does Mitchell have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fivay turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
