Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Tri-Valley's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Tri-Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They didn't even let Marian Catholic on the board on Tuesday, marking the Bulldogs' second-straight 15-0 shutout. Considering the Bulldogs have won 14 matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kora Rodichok made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Tri-Valley let Olivia Witmer and Cassi Snyder run wild. Witmer went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run, while Snyder went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Snyder has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Mady Schwalm, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Tri-Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marian Catholic only posted an OBP of .143.

Tri-Valley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Marian Catholic, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-10 record.

Looking ahead, Tri-Valley will challenge Holy Cross at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. Marian Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
