The Crawford Colts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 59-46 to Canyon Hills. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Crawford has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Crawford lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trevon Blanks. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Blanks is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Yasir Abdurahman was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Crawford has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Canyon Hills, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.
Crawford won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Kearny at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. Kearny is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Canyon Hills, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against La Jolla at 6:15 p.m.
