Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sturgis). They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Burr Oak Bobcats on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak.
Julien Lambright and Gavyn Moore made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Lambright struck out seven batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Moore pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts Lambright has posted since back in April. At bat, Lambright went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Moore went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Moore also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
