Lower Lake is 1-9 against Upper Lake since August of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Trojans will look to defend their home court against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Tuesday, Lower Lake came up short against St. Helena and fell 3-1. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Saints 25-20 in the first set.
Lower Lake started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-12, 25-22, 25-23.
Meanwhile, Upper Lake lost 3-0 to Kelseyville on Tuesday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-9, 25-20.
Lower Lake will have to keep a close watch on Ava Witter and Aimee Schaefers, a pair of players who had a big impact on Upper Lake's prior game. Witter had 17 digs, while Schaefers had ten kills, nine digs, and three blocks. Schaefers is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now had two or more in each of the last 40 games she's played dating back to last season.
Lower Lake's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Upper Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
