If the Middle College Cougars were feeling good off their 59-27 takedown of the Stella High Charter Academy Eagles last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Middle College was the victim of a tough 58-38 loss at the hands of Horace Mann UCLA Community on Wednesday. Middle College was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Horace Mann UCLA Community apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Amanze Njoku and Devin Burrell certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Njoku dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Burrell scored 12 points.
Middle College now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Horace Mann UCLA Community, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Middle College will square off against Foshay at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Foshay will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Horace Mann UCLA Community, they will head out on the road to face off against Math & Science College Preparatory at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Math & Science College Preparatory is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
