Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (56), Troy still had to take the loss.
Troy's loss came despite strong showings from Stetson Merritt and Legend Merritt. Merritt scored 34 points, while Merritt scored 23 points. That was a full 55.7% of Troy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Troy has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Columbia, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Troy will take on the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Colonie Central will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Columbia, they will be playing at home against the Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shaker presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Blue Devils in New York (the Bison are ranked 16th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 319th).
