The Thornwell Saints will head out on the road to face off against the Ninety Six Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Thornwell couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by Ware Shoals 53-13 last Friday.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Ninety Six had to settle for a 38-36 loss against Emerald on Friday.
The losing side was boosted by Janiyah Squire, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. She scored a full 50% of Ninety Six's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Hart, who scored a points along with seven steals.
Thornwell's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Ninety Six, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
