The South Central Satellites waltzed into their matchup Saturday with four straight wins but they left with five. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 38-22 win over Elkhart Christian Academy. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points South Central has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hope Welsh, who scored 14 points along with four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Welsh has scored at least 25% of South Central's points. Another player making a difference was Sadie Marks, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
South Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.
South Central will take on Knox in a holiday battle at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at. Elkhart Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lakeland Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
