Basketball Recap: Berea-Midpark's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

If Berea-Midpark was feeling good fresh off their 94-68 takedown of Midview last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Berea-Midpark Titans lost to the St. Edward Eagles on the road by a 121-104 margin on Monday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (94), the Titans still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Berea-Midpark lost, don't look at Nick Reece. Despite the final result, he went 16 of 25 on his way to 41 points and four steals. Reece's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan (Diggy) Maddox, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Even though they lost, Berea-Midpark was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 25 assists in three consecutive matches.

Berea-Midpark moved to 4-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for St. Edward, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Berea-Midpark will welcome North Royalton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Berea-Midpark is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 89.9 points per game this season. As for St. Edward, they will head out to face off against Pickerington Central at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. St. Edward knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Pickerington Central likes a good challenge.
