Baseball Recap: Buena Wins Going Away Against Cienega

Buena barely beat Cienega the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Buena blew past Cienega 12-1 on Thursday. The game marked the Colts' most dominant victory of the season.

Buena got a big performance out of Bryson Haymore, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Alex Jackson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The win was the third in a row for Buena, bringing their record up to 10-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Cienega, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Buena will welcome Mountain View at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Buena is facing Mountain View at the right time seeing as Mountain View is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Cienega, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Pueblo at 6:00 p.m. Pueblo has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.75 runs per game on average), something Cienega will no doubt try to take advantage of.
