The Manchester Blue Devils were the 77-51 winner over the Schley County Wildcats when they last played one another on January 6th, but their luck changed this time around. Manchester took a 68-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (56), Manchester still had to take the loss.
Manchester's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Daryus Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Dre McGhee who scored 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Bryant continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Darious Favors, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Manchester and nudges their season record down to 14-7. As for Schley County, they pushed their record up to 9-9 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Manchester will take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Schley County, they will head out on the road to challenge the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
