Cape Fear barely beat Gray's Creek the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Cape Fear was the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over Gray's Creek on Tuesday. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.
Logan Rayburn spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Landon Underwood was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. Jackson Rainey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Underwood wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Cape Fear lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.
