Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Twin Peaks Classical Academy

Twin Peaks Classical Academy won the last time they faced Liberty Tree Academy, and Kaleigh Van Pelt did her part to make sure it happened again. The Twin Peaks Classical Academy Timberwolves strolled past the Liberty Tree Academy War Eagles with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 45-27 thanks in part to Van Pelt, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Despite the defeat, Liberty Tree Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Melody Pruitt dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sarelle Smith, who posted three points and 15 rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Twin Peaks Classical Academy and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Liberty Tree Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-18 defeat against Loveland Classical on the 6th. As for Liberty Tree Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 31-22 victory against STEM School Highlands Ranch on the 6th.
