The Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 64-55 to Capitol. Woodlawn-B.R. lost against Capitol in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-46 score last time.
Woodlawn-B.R. lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kelinee Stone, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Stone has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Roy Recasner iii, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Woodlawn-B.R.'s loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Capitol, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Woodlawn-B.R. and Ascension Episcopal will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ascension Episcopal will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Woodlawn-B.R. is ranked 107th). Capitol won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wossman at 6:45 p.m. on December 7th. One thing working in Wossman's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
