If the Union County Patriots were feeling good off their 64-17 takedown of the Victory College Prep Bulldogs on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Union County was dealt a 62-25 loss at the hands of Borden on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Union County has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Union County had strong showings from Nick Watterson, who scored nine points, and Gavin Davis, who scored seven points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Watterson has scored all season.
Union County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Borden, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union County will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Rushville at 7:30 p.m. on December 30th. Rushville is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Borden, they will head out on the road to face off against New Washington at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. New Washington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while Borden is ranked 179th).
