Softball Recap: Metuchen's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak at Home

While Metuchen's victory against Middlesex wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Bluejays 11-9. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bluejays on Monday, too.

Sarah Lindemann was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Leah Dagan was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Metuchen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Metuchen's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-15. As for Middlesex, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Metuchen will square off against Dunellen at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Destroyers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.84 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. Middlesex does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
