Softball Recap: Glen Allen Wins Going Away Against Deep Run

Glen Allen owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Deep Run Wildcats. Considering the Jaguars have won six matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Jaidyn Tillman's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Glen Allen let Ashton Limbach and Alison Via run wild. Limbach got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Via went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Limbach a new career-high. Kenzie Hueston was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Glen Allen's record now sits at 10-3. As for Deep Run, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Glen Allen is taking a road trip to take on Dinwiddie at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Generals will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Deep Run, they will welcome Highland Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
