Basha (Chandler, Ariz.) 48-28 on Saturday.
The Jaguars were up 13-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Husar in the first quarter.
Both teams scored 14 points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 13 entering the fourth.
Desert Ridge's standout player in the win was
Brendon Smith. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Zach Werlinger played well for the Bears. The junior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
When the two teams played each other last season, DR came away with a 63-24 victory.
The defeat comes as a step back for Basha, which notched a 42-14 victory over Gilbert in its previous outing. The loss snapped Basha's 2-game winning streak.
In a non-conference game next week Basha (5-2) takes on Perry, and Desert Ridge (6-1) will go up against Mesa in a I Section II game.
