Basketball Recap: Nicolo Passalacqua Key Part of a Team Effort in Wildcats Win

It was a proper cat-fight when The Carmel School faced off against Shining Star Sports Academy on Tuesday. The Carmel School Wildcats walked away with an 80-67 victory over the Shining Star Sports Academy Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

The Carmel School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nicolo Passalacqua out in front who went 10 of 17 en route to 23 points along with six rebounds and five assists. The contest was Passalacqua's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Edoardo Marra, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 21 points.

The Carmel School has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Shining Star Sports Academy, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

The Carmel School has already played their next matchup (against Virginia Episcopal School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Shining Star Sports Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Riverdale Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
